Working out with Shaun T!

Saturday I had a training meeting for Beachbody.  Who was the special guest?  Shaun T - creator of Insanity, Insanity: Asylum, Hip Hop Abs,  Rockin' Body and Fit Kids!   He was so down to earth and surprisingly funny.  He really kept the energy up.  It's not like he's a famous super star or anything, but it was nice to see someone who truly cares about people.  It was very inspirational.  Did I mention it was hard?  He had us doing some intense work!  Some of the moves were from his Asylum program.  I have not done this but wow....crazy.  I don't think I've sweated so hard in my life.  I also loved the positive vibes other coaches were putting off.  Overall, it was an amazing time.  Hard work out, pictures, and positive people.  Doesn't get much better than that!

Wednesday Weigh In

187.  :/  I really wanted to be out of the 180's by the end of February.  I've been working hard, eating healthy (most of the time) and the scale is not budging.   I'm hoping it's muscle.  I plan on doing the Bod Pod again to see.  I'll have to call and make an appointment.  My clothes are looser as well.  I think tomorrow morning I'll have to take measurements too.  Kind of bummed though.  :/

Wednesday Weigh In

Today's weigh in was 186.  I knew it would go up a little bit after the cleanse.  Glad it wasn't too bad.  I still feel good and am not craving as much sugary junk.  :)  Woot!  Working on Insanity.  Day 3 today - 60 days left.... :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!  Today Tropical Strawberry Shakeology is OUT!!!!  Wooohooo!  So excited.  It came out today.  I'm ordering it tonight in hopes that it gets here sooooon!  :)  I've got a special running now - free jar of PB2 with any Shakeology HD order!  This stuff is amazing! Did I also mention is completely VEGAN!

The unsuccesful 5K

In the spirit of Valentines day, the gym had a Sweetheart Run/walk 5K.  3.2 miles to be exact.  A total of 9 times around a loop in the gym.  I figured I'd give it a shot.   I packed up Rod nice and warm and took him to the gym.  3 laps. That all he lasted.  3 lousy laps around.  I can't say that I blame him. Round and round we go - it was maddening.  I dislike indoor races!  Since I didn't want to torture him I took him to the indoor play area.  We played for about 30 minutes before heading home.  :)

I sure can't wait until the weather gets nicer.  I mean, I like the snow - watching Rod in it is so fun, but I'm ready for some outdoor fun!  Anyone else ready for some fun outside? :)

Learned a Lesson....

Do not eat ice cream after a cleanse!  I went out with a friend tonight.  We were looking for dresses for the Mom Prom.  While finding a dress was unsuccessful, finding an open Dairy Queen was.  I go a small and didn't finish it all!  However, I'm paying for it.  My stomach is just not wanting that stuff.  Now that I'm home, I'm drinking some water and making my tummy feel better! 

In more cheerful news - I am getting ready to start my next  challenge group!  One gal has already purchased the 10 minute trainer challenge pack.  She is going to be AMAZING!  I can't wait to see her transformation.  :) She's going to do so well. 

In my current challenge group I've got three very participative women.  Two doing Insanity and one doing Power 90 with her husband.  I'm so proud of all of them.  The two doing insanity have been killing it!  They have been working so hard and I can tell they are feeling stronger.  One of the gals lives near me and she look more and more amazing every day.  My friend doing Power 90 also signed up as a coach.  She's going to school, working, and is a beautiful mom of two.  She is so inspiring. In just 30 days she lost 12 lbs!  I love seeing how great my girls are working and seeing them get healthy!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!

10 lbs!  I lost 10 lbs thanks to this cleanse!  When I started the scale said 193 and this morning, 183!  I no longer feel bloated which feels amazing.  It feels good to have all the "junk" out of my system from traveling.  This morning I made pancakes using a recipe from Tosca Reno.  These pancakes had no sugar, no white flour, and egg whites.  I even cut my son's into a heart. <3  They did taste different, but they weren't too bad.  The rest of today should be a good one!  Insanity today!

My Three Day Cleanse - Day 3

Today was my last day for the cleanse! Woohoo!  Breakfast was a chocolate Shakeology with strawberries,  lunch was chocolate Shakeology with half a banana, and dinner was chocolate Shakeology with half a banana.  I had lots of water.  I also wanted something more than a shake so I had a handful and a half of pecans.  I know thats not part of the plan, but it's not going to kill me.  I mean, it's better than grabbing ice cream or something right!  Plus - I used those as my protein. :)  They were delish! 
No dinner photo tonight.  Part of the reason I didn't eat the salad was because I took a very long nap and slept through dinner. Whoops!  I never feel hungry when it's super late!

Just because tomorrow is my last day doesn't mean I'm done.  I think I'm going to make some healthy pancakes from the Tosca Reno book! 

Obviously there was no weigh in today.  I wanted to save it for tomorrow since tomorrow would be my last day. <3   Until tomorrow - see you then!

So, the past 4 weeks have showed little change on the scale but I can see a difference in the pictures!  Here are my 30 day before and after! 
I still have some work to do but so far I'm happy to see some changes! WOOT WOOT! Go me!  This was just 30 days of Shakeology, TurboJam, and clean eating!

My Three Day Cleanse - Day 2

Day two of my cleanse went better than day one.  I wasn't craving as much sugary foods and I woke up feeling cleaner.  I also lost 7 lbs from yesterday!  How that happened I don't know.  I knew I was bloated but my goodness!  What a difference.  I should add that losing that much is NOT typical.  The average is 3 - 5 lbs.  I will admit that I'm ready to be done with this.  I'm pretty hungry and would like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  That's an odd thing to crave isn't it? lol

On to today.  For breakfast I had a Shakeology - water and ice only.  It was pretty good.  Not sure if I mentioned this yesterday, but I have been afraid of doing the cleanse.  I thought water and Shakeology plane would be gross.  Turns out its not so bad.  I ate that pretty late so I didn't need a snack.  For lunch I ended up eating Shakeology with half a banana.  Snack was a Shakeology with strawberries.  I also ate a handful of pecans because...well, I was hungry.  For dinner I had ice burg lettuce, one carrot, some radishes, balsamic vinaigrette,  asparagus,  and unseasoned cod.  The cod was amazing.  It made me want fish sticks!  My final snack tonight will be the other half of my banana.

My Three Day Cleanse - Day 1

Between traveling and Super Bowl Sunday my food intake has not been the best.  After the last two weigh ins I decided it was time for me to do the Shakeology three day cleanse.  I have been afraid too because you cut out dairy - and was afraid of drinking plain water with Shakeology.  Turns out, it's not so bad.  Some people think cleanses, or detoxes are bad.  I have to agree that some of them are bad.

10 days on a liquid diet?  I'm sure I'd be in prison for biting someones head off - literally.  I've done lots of research and really like the idea behind this cleanse.  For one, I'm not eating just a liquid cleanse.  Each day of the cleanse you will drink 2 glasses of green tea, 3 glasses of Shakeology (mixed with water), 2 pieces of fruit, and a salad with low fat dressing.  Lean poultry and fish may assist with the salad.  No dairy, no snacking, no extra sugar, no soy/almond/rice milk, LOTS OF WATER.  The idea behind the cleanse is to provide your body with maximum nutrients while ridding your body of harmful toxins. The primary goal is not weight loss, but balance within your body.

Wondering how my first day went?  It was rough.  I don't think it would have been so hard if I didn't have a husband and child to feed.  Nonetheless, I did well.  Here is my day:
  • For breakfast I had Chocolate Shakeology blended with 8 oz of water and 1/2 a banana.    
  • For a snack, I had a cup of green tea.
  • Lunch was Chocolate Shakeology blended with 8 oz of water and 1/2 a banana
  • Dinner was ice burg lettuce, white beans, 1 carrot, sunflower seeds, and one capful of light balsamic vinaigrette.   I later found out I wasn't supposed to eat the sunflower seeds. :)
  • Snack was Chocolate Shakeology blended with 8 oz of water. 
Over all it went well.  I was really craving dairy, cheese, chocolate, nuts, sugar....just about everything.  I know that it is part of the process of getting rid of the toxins and cravens.  :)  Below is a picture of my dinner!  I can honestly say - the beans were not that great - and I wanted cheese to top it off. But I did well.  :) I should also add, that while my salad probably doesn't look the most appetizing, it surprisingly filled me up.

Healthy Super Bowl Foods!

I'm a grazer.  And by grazer I mean I like to walk around the food table and grab a few nibbles at a time. This goes on all night.  This year I'm determined to not get the "bloat" that comes along with a fun night of football, food, and fun!
In addition to being a grazer, I'm also a picky eater.  I hate trying new things and love sticking to my "old habits."  To entice me, I grabbed Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet for Family & Kids.  So far so good.  She even has a recipe for chicken nuggets!  Listed below are some ideas for clean eating during tonights game!  Enjoy! And....GO GIANTS!
Quick Sweet Potato Fries


Crispy Chicken Bites
Hearty White Bean Chili 

And for dessert - No Bake Shakeology Balls!  They turned out pretty tasty!
No Bake Shaekology Balls:
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Rolled oats (oatmeal)
1 Cup Chocolate Shakeology
1/3 - 1/2 C Honey*

Mix well, roll into balls, and refrigerate! 

*It was suggested to me to use 1/2 cup of honey to make sure everything gets mixed well.  I noticed the 1/2 cup did a wonderful job of keeping it all together and imagine 1/3 cup would leave me just a little dry. :)

Wednesday Weigh In

Alright - for the month of January I ended up staying at 188!  That means, while I didn't lose much, I maintained.  I consider that a good thing.  I mean, how many people can go on vacation for 20 days and not gain?  I find that impressive. :)  I'm looking forward to what February has in store for me.  My goal is to lose 15 lbs.  It was 10, but since I didn't lose much in January I'm trying to make up for it.

Today I went to the library. I checked out a book by Tosca Reno.  The Eat Clean Cookbook for Kids and Family.  I highly recommend it.  It has mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, fish sticks...all a clean eating version!  I can't wait to try some of the recipe's.  I really  need to clean up my eating.  That is my BIGGEST downfall!  Abs, after all are made in the kitchen.  I let today be a junk food day, since I've been craving ice cream for 3 days now!  I got some and it was ok.  I didn't eat it all like I have in the past, and I was satisfied after just a little bit.  Amazing how the taste buds change.

And speaking of change.  I'm worried about my body changing.  My belly is not attractive and I'm so worried about stretchmarks and saggy skin!  I really want to have a smokin' body but am worried.  I know i shouldn't be.  It's being vain, but I would hate to have a saggy belly.  Know what I mean?  I found this photo and absolutely loved it.  It made me feel better, especially knowing that my belly, is from my baby.  And I wouldn't trade him for the world! :) <3
