First Challenge Group

I joined a challenge group in October and it's over.  Well, I guess I should say it's been over.  It sort of fizzled out.  Either way, I made progress.  I lost 14 lbs and 14 inches.  I also lost 1% body fat. I realize that i could have done better, but considering vacation, thanksgiving, Christmas, and 5 birthdays, I think it's pretty good. I'm so excited to start my new challenge group.  I really wanted to lose 20 lbs, but this shows you get into what you get out of it.  I should have, could have, passed up cake.  But I didn't.  now I'm completely caked out.  I feel like this was a fantastic learning opportunity. I put in mediocre effort and I got mediocre results.  As I start my first challenge group, I'm doing so with more discipline.  I have 90 days to an amazing transformation and I will get that done!
This journey has been great so far.  I've met lots of wonderful supportive people who help keep me in line.  I recently made a vision board.  I posted all my goals for this upcoming year.   I can't wait to meet them!  Today I'm going to start off with some healthy eggs for breakfast!  :)  Have a great day, and if you want to join my on line challenge group - contact me!  I have just a few spots available - small group for better motivation, support, and growth!  have a great day!

Wednesday Weigh In

Woohoo!  I've lost a pound.  I am now at 194.  I am so happy!  I mean, I went through Christmas and lost weight.  Gotta love it.  :)  I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.  I did.  Today my husband and I will be taking our son to the zoo! It's 54 degrees and too warm for December! lol  have a great day!

Wednesday Weigh In

Weighed in today 195.  Given the busy week (to include DH's surprise part) I'm not surprised.  I'm ok with it and I think it's important to be ok with a little bit of weight gain.  I mean, its to be expected.  I have yet to meet anyone going through a lifestyle change that doesn't experience ups and downs.  As long as next Wednesdays weigh in goes well, I'll be happy!
In Beachbody news, Les Mills Pump came out!  I'm super stoked!  I'm debating between getting it now, or waiting until I lose 40 lbs.  I despise cardio and love weights but know I need both to get maximum results.   What I would like to do is get both and do a hybrid of Les Mills Pump and Insanity.   I just told hubby tonight I wanted it for Christmas!  Crossing my fingers!!!

Holiday Festivities and working out....

Last night I partook into some Holiday Festivities.  I don't typically drink. However, last night my sister took my son and that left me baby free for a night.  I enjoyed some Moscoto.  My favorite wine.  It was wonderful.  I slept until 11:30 and only got up because my son had his 1 year check up.  The plan was to come home and do my Fit test and Max Cardio circuit.
That was a mistake.  I barely made it through the fit test without feeling light heading and sick.  I'm sure its because I'm dehydrated.  So, I finished the fit test (with embarrassing numbers) and am taking it easy until tonight.  I am loading up on water and some fruit, then i will finish my work out.  I can't let a little set back ruin all my good work can I?
On a more positive not, I have a shirt that says "I'm not short, I'm elf size"  It is my absolute favorite for Christmas.  I haven't worn it in two years.  Since I haven't done laundry, it was the only shirt I had left this morning.  IT FIT! I was so happy that I was able to actually put it on and have it fit!!!!  That is just the motivation I needed.  I can't wait to have the body I want.  Crossing my fingers that I can get to the 20 lb mark by December 31st.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Please Do This Favore....

This isn't related to my blog at all but I need a favor.  Baby Adam passed away January 11th of this year.  His family is collecting Christmas  cards to fill his stocking.  Would you mind taking the time to send a card to a baby angel?  His family would appreciate it.  Click the photo below for more information and the address.

Wednesday Weigh In

Despite yesterday's post, I some how have managed to lose 4 lbs!  I weighed inn today at 191!  I'm so excited!  Just three more lbs until I'm at my end of the year goal weight!  I can totally do this!  I'm counting my weight loss as a blessing and am keeping on track!  :)  I'm so glad that I'm almost out of the 190's!!!  That is simply amazing!  :)
In other knews, Beachbody has put Shaun T's Rockin body on sale for just $20! It is orginally $60!  I think I want it!  I looked at the reviews and it looks really fun.  I love dancing (even though I'm terrible) so I think I will end up getting it.  After I get Christmas done for everyone else though! :o)  It would go great with my challenge group that starts in January! All in due time.  Until then, God Bless!

Wow....band wagon come back!

So I fell off the band wagon.  Started with Thanksgiving, then I got sick, got better  but out of routine, got sick again, had my sons birthday party, my birthday, hubbies birthday coming up.   All excuses really.  On the days I was busy but not sick, I could have found an hour to work out.  I'm definitely going to feel it.  Today has also been the first day that I have not had a headache.
I can't tell you how easy it is to fall back into bad habits.  I mean, I've skipped them for weeks and in a matter of days I'm drinking soda, eating cake, candy, and other junk food.  My legs feel sore because I haven't worked out and I'm petrified to do my Wednesday weigh in tomorrow.  I did so well and I refuse to let myself give up.  If everyone gave up with every road block no one would get anywhere.  So, tonight I'm going to work out and  feel better.  Love yourself love your body!

Wednesday Weigh In

Has it really been a week?  Yikes.  Sorry!  Scale today said 195... 3 lb gain.  It's to be expected.  I've been sick and having migrains all week.  No exercise.  :(  I went to the chiropractor yesterday so hopefully my headaches will stop.  They seem to be better so far but my back is still a little sore. :(  I haven't decided whether or not I will work out today. I don't want to throw my back out - I really can't afford another trip to the chiropractors.  I hope I get better soon.  I'm tired of being a bendy straw in the mud

Month 2 of Insanity

The insanity DVD's have two sets.  The first month you do Plyometric Cardio Circuit, Cardio Power and Resistance, Cardio Recovery, Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs.  Then you do a week of Core Cardio and Balance.  This is recovery week.  Then you go to the final month.  Max Interval Circuit, Max Interval Plyo, Max Cardio Conditioning, and Max Recovery.  Today was my first day of the "Max" set.  I did Max Interval Circuit.

Holy Moly!  It was rough.  I had to take a lot of rests.  I'm glad I finished it.  Glad it's over.  I think the next 30 days will push me to my limits.  This is honestly the hardest work out I have ever done.  I know it will be worth it to see results in the end though. I just have to "Dig Deeper" as Shaun T says!  Speaking of results, I have seen progress. Seeing progress  inspires me to work harder.

Now, in addition to the DVD's I mentioned above, there is a Fit Test. These are my stats so far:

Fit Test Day 1                  Fit Test Day 15                Fit Test Day 36

Switch Kicks                      49                                 46                                     47
Power Jacks                       29                                 30                                     38
Power Knees                      68                                 70                                     85
Power Jumps                      16                                 23                                     27
Globe Jumps                         6                                   7                                       8
Suicide Jumps                     10                                 12                                     14
Push-Up Jacks                     7                                   15                                    17
Low Plank Oblique              5                                   17                                    20

I'm not sure what was going on with my my switch kicks, but I'm happy with the rest of the results. Day 50 will be my next test day.  Day 63 will be final tape!  I can't wait to see my final results.

Why I Love Shakeology

Let me start off by saying that Shakeology is not a diet drink.  It is a nutritional drink.  It is a drink you could safely replace any meal with!  It is also convenient.  It eases digestion, gives me energy, and has helped with weight loss.  It is full of proteins, amino acids, vitamins, probiotics, minerals, antioxidents, photonutrients and so much more.  Shakeology is truly the healthiest meal of the day.  Can't I just eat healthy from the grocery store?

I could, but I wouldn't get half the nutrients.  I would never eat blue green algae, wheat grass, oat grass, sacha inchi, amaranth, among other things.  Where would I even find half the ingredients!  The benefits to this drink are endless.  I look at the mass production of our food today.  Fertilizers are absorbed into the soil witch kills the nutrients we need.  In fact, an apple today has just 25% of the nutrients that an apple had 20 years ago!  While modern food industry produces a lot of food, it produces a lot of cheap, high calorie, now nutrient foods.  The ingredients that make Shakeology come from nutrient rich soils from around the world.  It is a glass of natural nutrition in a glass.

What about the price?  Some people say its expensive.  Is $4 a day to expensive for your health?  In the month before Shakeology, I spent $140 on eating out.  I ate out for convenience mostly.  I could have saved myself money if I had chose Shakeology instead.  Not to mention, all the eating out and fast food made me feel bloated and uncomfortable.  Shakeology makes me feel lighter and cleaner.  I carry some with me every day.  If I need to run through the drive through it is only to get milk to add to my drink.  But the cost effectiveness is not the only reason I enjoy it so much.

The reason why I like it so much is because it really tastes good!  I've tried several meal replacement drinks in the past.  They don't even compare.  I sometimes drink it by mixing a scoop of the mix into milk and shaking.  This is particularly convenient when I'm running late and have yet to eat.  When I have more time, I love to mix it in a blender with 1 scoop Shakeology, 1 Cup milk or almond milk, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, and lots of ice.  Amazing.  I've also had it made the same way with a banana added to the mix.  Still so good!  I no longer crave ice cream because I have such a great replacement.  In addition, I've noticed  many benefits.  For me, they are maximum nutrition, weight loss, easier digestion and more energy.  With a one year old, the extra energy is certainly needed!

I encourage everyone to give it a try.  It is guaranteed 100%.  If you don't like it, send it back for a full refund (minus shipping.)  You wont be disappointed. To find out more, click on the Shakeology button to the right of the screen.

If you have had Shakeology before, in either the chocolate or the greenberry flavor, leave a message!  I would love to hear your thoughts and what your favorite Shakeology recipe is!

Because I Matter Too....

As a first time mom, my world changed.  Bringing home a new baby was full of joy, fun, amazement, and undeniable love.  One thing a new baby didn't offer was free time.  My son is nearly a year old.  In that year, I took care of him, the house, my husband, and our pets.   I felt guilty for doing things on my own, especially things like exercise in which I would have to take time away from my baby daily.
Then one day it dawned on me.  If I'm not a healthy fit mom, am I really the best that I can be for him?  He is getting to the stage where he copies me.  I don't want him copying me in negative ways.  It was time for a change.  I talked to my friend who wanted to do the Insanity program together.  I bought it.  I bought it and did two weeks.  It sat on the DVD player unused.
Then I decided to start up again.  Once again it got two weeks worth of use before I stopped.  I just didn't have it in me.  My son kept wanting me to play, he wasn't doing well in his playard, and during naps I was busy cleaning.  By the time my husband was around I started working on dinner and spending time as a family.  I discussed all of this with my own coach.  In a nutshell, she told me I was making excuses and that if I didn't make time, I wouldn't see the results that I needed.  She was right and it was just the kick in the pants that I needed.
Since then, I have been working out diligently to the Insanity program.  I just finished recovery week and will be going to the second, harder set of DVD's.  In just a month, I have lost 9 lbs and gone down a clothing size.  My clothes that were once to tight are now fitting.  I have more energy and I may not get everything done in one day but that's ok.  Why?  Because I matter.  I'm not just a mommy and a wife.  I'm a woman who wants to look and feel her best.  It's time for me to make a transformation.  From frumpy housewife to hot momma!
I hope that by journaling my experiences I can inspire someone else.  Join me on my quest to End the Trend of Obesity! Thanks for stopping bye and God bless!
